The Cheeselander day trip to Warrnambool

Join 707 Operations on our first day steam and heritage diesel locomotive tour for the 2020 steam season on an enjoyable day trip to Warrnambool in the South West of Victoria on Saturday 9 May 2020. Our steam locomotive, R 707 will be assisted at times by heritage diesel locomotive S 306 on this amazing excursion. Bring your beach towel and bathers, spend the afternoon exploring the seaside city or join an afternoon bus trip to the Great Ocean Road or to the Cobden Miniature Railway. Book your tickets here.
Our day-return heritage train will depart at 8.45 am from Melbourne's Southern Cross Statio, stopping to pick up additional passengers at Geelong at 10.15 am. Sit back in Standard Class and enjoy our heritage carriages that consist of open saloon and compartment style carriages or try our Premium Class travel option in private compartments for solo travellers, or group compartments designed for 2 or 3 guests. Each class of travel offers a different unique travel style that will make your journey to Warrnambool comfortable.
After arriving into Warrnambool at 2.05 pm you can spend the afternoon exploring the seaside township and take a late lunch. The town and main street is only a few miutes walk from the Railway Station where this heritage train arrives. Hit the beach for a late autumn swim, the water is also just a few minutes walk from the Railway Station. You might also consider an optional afternoon tour to the Warrnambool Cheeese Factory and the Cobden Miniature Railway or the Great Ocean Road.
Our return train departs from Warrnambool at 6.55 pm, watch the sun set as we pass through South Western townships of Terang, Camperdown and Colac, returning to Geelong at 10.30 pm and Melbourne, Southern Cross at 11.50 pm. Don't forget about the 24 hour suburban train network on Saturday night, allowing you options to return home by public transport after this popular excursion.
