MAINLINE STEAM TRAIN TRIPS IN VICTORIA!
Welcome to the website of Seven – O – Seven Operations Inc., Vintage Rail Travel and the Locomotive Restoration Group.
We hope you enjoy your visit to 707 Operations website and hope you will join us on a steam train trip from Melbourne on the mainline broad gauge rail network in Victoria. Subject to fireban restrictions, our heritage air-conditioned train is pulled by Ex Victorian Railways steam locomotive R707 and run under the Vintage Rail Travel brand. For your convenience most of of our steam train rides are run on a Sunday.
WHAT'S NEW?
Vintage Rail Travel's final 2011 mainline trip "Steam and Cuisine" ran on Sunday 04 December. Despite a cold wind for the lunchtime barbeque at Newport Workshops Garden Platform, the trip was a great success and the uninterrupted run back from Frankston to Southern Cross station provided a most enjoyable finale for the trip.
R707 performed faultlessly following it's extensive boiler maintenance and is now undergoing a planned program of summer maintenance to ensure it will be in first class condition for 2012.

2012 Mainline Trips
Information on Vintage Rail Travel's 2012 trips will appear on this website early in the new year.
Our first public activity for the year will be participation in the March open Day at Newport Workshops.
